Returning to her roots (or as close as she could get to her hometown of Kentwood), Spears kicked off her Circus tour in New Orleans on Tuesday night in front of a packed crowd that just couldn't get enough of the pop princess.
The show delivered one glitzy punch after another. During Circus, Spears dangled from the ceiling, singing as she sat perched on a circular ring. During another song, she is cut in half in a faux magician's act. In yet another, she sits atop a giant umbrella.
The fantasy doesn't stop there. The show also included military men in pink underwear, oversize cages, and birds.

"There's only one time where it slows down - with two ballads in the middle," he added. "This is a full-blown, full-out Britney Spears show. It is a pop extravaganza. It is everything everybody expects from her -- and more!"
Rudolph went on to say that the Circus tour might be Spears' "best one" yet.
"There are so many highlights to this show. The costumes are amazing," he said. "It's the biggest production out there and maybe the biggest production ever launched. We have circus performers, aerialists, dancers, martial artists -- we have all kinds of things."
Spears is "a little" nervous, he added.
"She has this nervous energy. She's got this way of channeling it," said Rudolph. "I've said to her before that if you were on a football team and you were going to the Super Bowl, they'd want you to be their quarterback. When it comes to game day, nobody brings it like she does. She takes that nervous energy and turns it into the most amazing show."
Her average tour day: "She'll probably sleep late ... probably get up, have breakfast, and we'll leave to go to the venue at around 4-4:30, spend a little time, relax, hair and makeup around 6 or 7 and stage thereafter."
Having sons Sean Preston and Jayden James around "helps a lot," Rudolph said. "The boys give her amazing inspiration and amazing strength. It's been a great thing watching them with her throughout this whole process."

The murder investigation of D.C. intern, Chandra Levy, may finally have come to a head. According to Superior Court documents, a complaint has been filed against, Ingmar Guandique, an illegal immigrant who has been charged with Levy's murder.
The complaint accuses Guandique of First Degree Murder - Felony Murder, in violation of 22 D.C. Code.
Early after Levy's disappearance, California congressman, Gary Condit, became the focus of suspicion after it was discovered that Condit had a romantic relationship with Levy, who was his intern at the time.
The case took a turn after new detectives and prosecutors spoke with witnesses who confirmed Guandique told them he had attacked and killed Levy.
A search of his prison cell (he was already serving 10 years for attacking two other women) produced a picture of Levy that appeared to be torn from a magazine.
Guandique allegedly boasted to a witness that he was a member of the Salvadoran gang MS-13 and known as Chuckie because he had a reputation for cutting up people.
It's been almost eight years since Levy left apartment in May 2001 and was never heard from again. Her body was found one year later, May 22, 2002.

A source told the Sun: "Danny is the man of the moment and he is being bombarded with offers from studios. The EON team love his vision and think that it would work perfectly for the new look of Bond."
The source added: "Danny has always insisted he is more interested in the film than the money. There were scary moments though. In one sequence Thompson was supposed to try and suffocate one of the female bikers. She was terror-stricken thinking she'd actually gone too far. What a weekend! We have traveled so much over the last few days trying to see as many of our fans as possible. It was an unbelievable experience to go to the different places and pop in on our fans. We will never forget the looks on the faces of the people in the theaters when we just walked in. It is worth it to see this kind of reaction.
We have been reading your comments and messages on all of our sites throughout the weekend. Thank you for letting us know how much you enjoyed the movie. 3D Surprise Theater Invasion: San Francisco
Hey everyone!
We just left San Francisco, which was our last stop on the Theater Invasion Tour.
Everyone was so shocked and it was a great way to end our weekend.
We began our day in Dallas, then visited Austin, Las Vegas, and now San Francisco. It was another full and exciting day of seeing you up close. You are all so amazing and we wish we could have seen you all.
We will do a master blog about some of the wonderful stories we shared along our journey this weekend.

Making the fizzle even worse: they were beat by Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail which earned $16.5 million in its second week!

The cable outlet claims that the shrinking ad market is to blame. While they get that, the producers don't want to compromise the integrity of the show and don't think they can do a third season.

91 year-old Clarence Swensen, who played a Munchkin soldier in the classic 1939 flick The Wizard of Oz, died last Wednesday. The news comes from a funeral home in Pflugerville, Texas, where Swensen lived.
The retired 4 foot, 6 inch electronics technician had been in failing health since he had a stroke in 2005, according to The Austin American-Statesman.
Before that, Swensen had gone to Wizard of Oz reunions, and was one of the seven of the surviving Munchkin actors who were there in 2007 when the little Ozians received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In the late 1930s, Swensen joined the Stanley R. Graham All Midget Circus, which led to him being spotted by MGM and offered a part in the film. He earned $700 for the role.

Upon early release, Vick was slated to check into a halfway house in Newport News, Virginia to serve out the remaining portion of his 23- month prison sentence. As luck would have it, there is no room in the inn. The halfway house is jammed packed with other parolees. "We understand the financial strain one child can put on a family, let alone 14 little ones, so we would like to do our part and donate clothing from our line," the company says in a letter released to Usmagazine.com.
Custom Kingdom has offered to send its own favorite designs each month, or let Suleman's kids select. The company says if the family is still struggling with funds after a year, the company -- which sells brands like Ninja, iPoo and Security on its Web site -- has agreed to continue sending clothes.
Custom Kingdom will "provide at least $500 in clothing each month, for one year." It's the same company which sent its cute "I'm Out on Parole" onesies to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's twins Knox and Viv after their birth last July.

George Schlatter, producer of the legendary '60's comedy show "Laugh In ," spoke exclusively with RadarOnline.com about his dear friend, Ed McMahon.
As RadarOnline.com reported earlier today, the 85-year old McMahon has been in the hospital for nearly a month. The famed announcer is in serious condition with pneumonia, according to his rep.
But Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Ed is suffering from bone cancer.
Schlatter says he's been trying to reach out to Ed's wife Pam to see what's happening with him.
Schlatter tells RadarOnline.com: "The last time I saw Ed was at the Carousel of Hope (the Barbara Davis charity event in Beverly Hills). I was talking to him at least once a week and, since I hadn't heard from him in awhile, I became a little worried about him. He had a whole bunch of problems weighing him down--the house foreclosure and his ongoing battle with the insurance company over his mold case. "They took mold in the house and they painted over it! They just scraped it and painted over it, which disturbed it further--made it more toxic! I believe that the mold may have something to do with his cancer and other medical problems. It's very possible!"
Many medical experts say that prolonged exposure to mold can cause illness and even death.
